Stuart Fabe is a native Ohioan who hails from a family with a rich heritage in the arts. While the majority of his professional career had been devoted to raising charitable funds for several of Cincinnati’s most prominent medical centers and cultural institutions, Stuart has been passionate about fine art for over thirty years. He has traveled throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa creating highly expressive black & white images which have generated broad popular appeal. Many of his images render a dreamlike quality created by utilizing the ethereal infrared technique.

Upon retiring from his corporate career, Stuart left Cincinnati for full-time residence on the Indiana farm where his creative sensibilities nurtured a fresh artistic medium. He has mastered the art of dyeing and weaving on hard-shell gourds which he grows on the quiet Indiana farm that he shares with his partner, Marla, along with two dogs, two cats, and an assortment of other wildlife critters. The fascination with gourds provides an artistic balance between his passion for two-D black & white photographs and the world of “natural sculpture”.

Marla Helton is known internationally for her artistry with fine art gourds. She began her artistic career as a weaver and soon became enthralled with hard-shell gourds as an artistic medium. She has grown gourds on the Indiana farm she shares with Stu Fabe for 15 years. Marla has developed a broad clientele through art shows, mainly throughout the Midwest, and she teaches gourd art to interested groups across the US.
